For training in Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT), the SimulEYE® SLT Laser model was created specifically. It has an iris and a pigmented angle structure that depigments when subjected to SLT laser treatment. It is designed to be used with a cornea-scleral shell for SLT laser lenses. With every laser pulse, the model accurately simulates the development of “champagne bubbles,” with the intensity of the bubbles rising as the energy level increases.
The model needs to be filled with water before using it, and for correct visualisation, an SLT laser lens and gels similar to Goniosol are needed. Even though they are single-use, each model can endure several laser treatments before running out of energy, enabling prolonged practice. This model is a great resource for learning SLT laser techniques.
